A set in 1:72 scale from which you can build two Indian war elephants complete with their crews. An elephant is a striking centerpiece on the table and on a diorama, because it stands above everything around it and gives a force its scale. The parts in this range are in soft plastic, on which ordinary polystyrene cement and paint do not hold without preparation. That is not a flaw but a property of the material, and it is enough to allow for it beforehand.
Indian armies used war elephants for centuries, and meeting them was one of the hardest moments of Alexander's campaign to the east. An elephant carried a crew with javelins and bows on its back and its main strength was breaking a close infantry formation. At the same time it was unpredictable: a wounded animal turned back and trampled its own ranks, which made it a weapon with a great risk attached.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry out completely. Apply a primer intended for soft plastics. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the elephant separately and add the crew only at the end. Gray hide comes out well when, once dry, you cover it with a dark wash and bring out the folds with a light dry brush.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
