A set of unpainted figures of Prussian hussar cavalry of the Napoleonic Wars in 1:72 scale. Hussars are among the most spectacular figures of the whole period, because their equipment is full of braid, fur and colored detail. The figures in this range are in soft plastic, on which ordinary polystyrene cement and paint do not hold without preparation. That is not a flaw but a property of the material.
Hussars were light cavalry intended for reconnaissance, for pursuing a retreating enemy and for disrupting his supply, not for a frontal charge against close ranks. The Prussian hussar regiments distinguished themselves above all in the campaigns against Napoleon after 1812, when pursuing the retreating French army was one of their main tasks. Each regiment had its own color combination of dolman and cap.
First wash the figures in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry out completely. Then apply a primer intended for soft plastics. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the rider separately and seat him on the horse only at the end. Pick out the braid on the dolman with a fine brush once the base color is done; it is what gives the figure its whole effect.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
