Responsibility details are not available.
A set of unpainted figures of Carthaginian cavalry and command figures in 1:32 scale. The larger scale means that a figure will take far more painting work than one in 1:72: shadows can be graded on it, eyes drawn in and patterns added to the shield. The figures are in soft plastic, on which ordinary polystyrene cement and paint do not hold without preparation. That is not a flaw but a property of the material.
Carthaginian cavalry was one of the best in the Mediterranean of its day and in the Punic Wars it decided battles. It was precisely the cavalry's flanking move and the attack into the rear of the Roman line that made Cannae a legend. The cavalry was made up both of Carthaginian nobles and of hired Numidians, who rode without a saddle and fought with javelins. Command figures were set apart from the rank and file by richer equipment and a helmet.
First wash the figures in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry out completely. Then apply a primer intended for soft plastics. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the rider separately and seat him on the horse only at the end. In a large scale it pays to build the paint up in layers and to add patterns to the shields and the saddlecloths.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
