A small plastic kit of the German medium tank Panther in the Ausf. A version, in 1:100. The small scale means a low number of parts and a quick build, so the model comes together in a single evening. Kits in this scale suit both the display case and the gaming table, where several vehicles of the same type are needed.
The Panther was a German medium tank introduced as an answer to the Soviet machines with sloped armor. It received a long 7.5 cm gun with a high muzzle velocity, a steeply sloped hull front and wide tracks with interleaved road wheels. The Ausf. A version brought a new commander's cupola and a ball mount for the machine gun in the hull front. Thanks to the combination of armor, gun and mobility it was among the most feared machines of its time, but it was complicated to build and to maintain.
In this scale the surface cannot be saved by weathering; clean joints and a straight barrel decide everything. Paint the running gear before you attach the Schürzen. Spray the camouflage at low pressure and from a short distance, or the patches will come out disproportionately large. A dark wash in the recesses and a fine lightening of the upper surfaces will give the model the volume that would otherwise be lost in a small scale.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
