A large injection-molded plastic kit in 1:12 scale from Italeri. It depicts the Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16V in the specification for the Safari Rally, including new parts matching that build. The kit is supplemented with photo-etched parts, and the package contains decals for the car options of the Safari Rally season. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Lancia Delta HF Integrale is the most successful rally car in the history of the world championship; the marque took six manufacturers titles in a row with it. The Safari Rally is one of the toughest events of the championship; it is run over African terrain, where the cars are given raised suspension, reinforced guards and modifications for dusty and extremely demanding conditions. It is exactly this version that the model depicts.
The large 1:12 scale offers room for detail in the interior, the engine and the chassis. Unlike glossy road cars, a rally car from the Safari calls for weathering, the layers of dust and mud that make the model realistic. Lay the base finish and the decals on a smooth surface and only then add dust and dirt with pigments and washes. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
