About product

Yamaha TZR250 (3MA) Late Version 1990 (1:12, Hasegawa)

An injection-molded plastic kit of a motorcycle in 1:12 scale from the Japanese maker Hasegawa. It faithfully captures the late form of the TZR250, type 3MA, of 1990. The model is built and painted; glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.

The real subject

The Yamaha TZR250 was a light two-stroke 250 sports bike, a favorite for its lively character and for engineering drawn from racing machines. The 3MA form was marked by an engine with a reversed exhaust layout and a modern chassis; the late version of 1990 was the mature shape of this generation.

Building and painting tips

Assemble and dress the frame and the engine, and only then deal with the fairing. Spray the painted surfaces with an airbrush and protect them with clear coat, and glue the chrome parts with a glue that leaves no fogging. Cabling and small details bring the overall look to life; apply the sponsor decals onto a smooth gloss surface.

Who the model is for

  • fans of two-stroke sports motorcycles
  • collectors of Yamaha models in a large scale
  • more experienced motorcycle modelers
  • builders of detailed models in 1:12 scale

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
