A short-run injection-molded plastic kit of the British four-engined Avro Lancaster bomber in 1:144 scale from Amodel, in the Dambuster version. The set usually holds plastic parts, photo-etched details and masks for the glazing, and it offers markings for the machines connected with the legendary raid on the German dams.
The specially modified Lancasters of the squadron that carried out the 1943 operation against the dams in the Ruhr went down in history under the nickname Dambusters. The machines were adapted to carry a special bomb that rolled down to the foot of the dam wall, and they attacked at night from extremely low altitude. The courage of the crews and the technical daring of the whole action made it one of the best known episodes of the air war.
This is a short-run mold, so clean the parts up carefully and dry-fit them. Glue the photo-etched details with CA glue and protect the glazing with the masks. Lay the night camouflage with black undersurfaces on with an airbrush and use a gloss clear coat before the decals, so that the markings settle without silvering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
