Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the heavy propeller-driven transport Douglas C-124A Globemaster II in 1:144 scale from Roden. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit captures the early C-124A version, that is without the nose radome and without the wingtip heaters that are typical only of the later form. Take the exact contents of the package from the instructions supplied.
The C-124 Globemaster II was an enormous propeller-driven transport with a capacious fuselage, clamshell nose doors for loading vehicles and a loading ramp. It was powered by four massive radial engines. Its slow, rugged manner earned it the nickname Old Shaky. It was used for the strategic movement of heavy equipment and cargo and was the backbone of American military transport in the 1950s and 1960s. The C-124A version was an early production variant.
The large fuselage calls for careful filling and sanding of the joints. Mask the cockpit glazing before spraying. On natural metal areas use a metallic paint over a smooth base and apply it at the very end. Military schemes suit a matte clear coat; washes in the panel lines will bring out the detail of the large surfaces and give the model depth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
