A kit of the model of the historic French submarine Gymnote in 1:144 scale from the Ukrainian brand Mikromir. It is a short-run kit with photo-etched parts and a stand for display; thanks to the small subject the assembled model is very compact.
The Gymnote was the first French submarine driven solely by an electric motor. She was launched at the end of the 1880s, measured just under 18 meters and drew her energy from accumulators. She was a pioneering vessel that made hundreds of dives and moved the development of submarine fleets forward considerably.
A short-run kit calls for more careful cleaning up of the parts and a dry fit before gluing. Bond the small photo-etched parts with super glue; the hull is best sprayed with an airbrush and then seated on the stand supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
