Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:144 scale from the manufacturer Clear Prop Models. The real subject is the Mitsubishi Ki-51, a two-seat Japanese aircraft used in the reconnaissance and light attack role, known by the Allied code designation Sonia. The Starter Kit designation in the name gives the edition of the boxing.
The Ki-51 was a single-engined all-metal low-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear, put into service from the end of the nineteen-thirties. The design sprang from a requirement for a simple and robust machine for direct support of ground units and tactical reconnaissance, able to operate from improvised field surfaces. The reconnaissance version added photographic equipment and was used for observing and assessing the battlefield. The aircraft stayed in the inventory throughout its service thanks to undemanding maintenance and good takeoff characteristics.
In 1:144 scale the cleanliness of the surface decides more than the amount of detail. Fill the joints of the fuselage and the wings and sand them with fine abrasive paper, so that no marks from the parting line remain. Glue the fixed landing gear and the struts only after spraying and varnishing, otherwise you will easily snap the wheel covers off. Mask the cockpit with liquid mask or with narrow strips of tape. Apply the primer and the paints with an airbrush in thin layers, so that the engraving is not flooded.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
