A set of headgear of German tankers of the Second World War in 1:16. An accessory for figures with large models of armor.
Responsibility details are not available.
German tank crews of the Second World War differed from the infantry in what they wore on their heads. A helmet was in the way inside the vehicle, and so a soft headgear was worn: first a side cap, later the standard field cap with a peak. It is precisely by that that the viewer knows a tanker at first glance, even before noticing the uniform. On a figure it is also the most exposed place, because the head sticks out of the hatch and is seen from every side.
This is a collection of headgear of German tankers in 1:16. In the size in which large models of armor are built, including radio-controlled ones, the shape of the crown, the welt and the sag of the cloth are all visible on a cap, so it pays to paint it separately and only then put it on. You can use it as a replacement for the part that belongs to a figure, and also as a small thing set down on a fender, on the turret or beside the tools, where it gives a scene the impression of work just interrupted.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remnant down, so that the shape of the welt is preserved. Wash and degrease before painting, choose the glue according to the material stated on the package and check the exact procedure in the manufacturer's instructions. Do not spray dark shades pure black: in scale a dark gray base looks more faithful, and on it the welt and the edge of the crown can be accented with a lighter tone applied with an almost dry brush.
The package is an accessory for figures. The paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
