A photo-etched detail accessory, not a model. The set contains photo-etched metal fenders for a large-scale kit of the German Panther Ausf. G medium tank in 1:16 scale. Thin brass sheet replaces the coarse box-stock plastic fenders: it has the correct thickness to scale, sharp edges and fine detail. The great advantage of metal is that you can convincingly bend, dent or tear the fenders and so reproduce battle damage. The set is made by Aber, the Polish specialist in photo-etched parts.
The Panther was among the most capable German medium tanks of the Second World War. The Ausf. G version was the most widespread and the latest production variant, with a reworked hull. In the large 1:16 scale the fenders are a prominently visible element where the thickness of plastic is especially distracting.
For more advanced modelers who are building the Panther Ausf. G in 1:16 scale and want realistically thin fenders, ideally with a hint of wear as well. Experience with photo-etched parts is assumed.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
