A set of headgear of American tankers of the Second World War in 1:16. An accessory for figures with large models of armor.
Responsibility details are not available.
American tank crews of the Second World War could be recognized by their headgear alone. Inside the vehicle a soft cap was worn, which got in the way neither under the hatch nor at the instruments, and over it or instead of it the crew's protective helmet with prominent cutouts at the ears. The cap is a detail the viewer notices on a figure before the equipment: it gives the face a frame and sets a tanker apart from an infantryman at first glance.
This is a collection of headgear of American tankers in 1:16, that is in a size in which even a seam and the sag of the cloth are visible. The scale of 1:16 holds among large models of armor, including radio-controlled ones, so the set will serve both in a diorama and in finishing off a completed vehicle with a figure at the hatch. A cap can be used as a replacement for the part that belongs to a figure, and also as a piece laid loose on a fender or on the turret.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remnant down, so that the shape of the welt is not wiped away. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Choose the glue according to the material stated on the package; the exact procedure follows the manufacturer's instructions. Keep the base shade muted, because pure khaki looks flat in this scale. Then accent the edges and the seams with a lighter tone applied with an almost dry brush, and let a darker glaze run into the folds.
The package is an accessory for figures. The paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
