An injection-molded plastic kit of the fictional LUM-168 Camel reconnaissance combat machine from the Maschinen Krieger (Ma.K.) science fiction universe, in 1:20 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. It is not a real vehicle but a design from a fantastical world created by Kow Yokoyama. This early version captures the Camel without the later add-on armor where the cabin joins the hull. The legs are movable thanks to polyethylene parts, the cockpit is rendered in detail and a figure of a pilot in a simple spacesuit is enclosed. A printed decal sheet and a color card for painting are included.
Maschinen Krieger is a popular science fiction world with richly worked-out machinery of the distant future, where human factions fight each other with the help of armored suits and support machines. The LUM-168 Camel is conceived as a universal lunar combat and reconnaissance vehicle with armament of its own and the mobility that a simple walking armored suit cannot offer. In an emergency the cockpit turns into an escape pod. The aesthetic of Ma.K. is valued for its realistic, worn used look, which gives great scope for weathering and color effects.
Join the parts with liquid cement for plastic and apply a filler before painting. The world of Ma.K. positively invites heavy weathering: playing with shades, dusting, chipping on the edges and pigments will create a convincingly dusty and worn machine. The movable legs let you choose a dynamic pose, so plan the painting with the final scene or diorama in mind.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
