The Type 041 is a diesel-electric attack submarine of the PLA Navy, taken into service from the middle of the first decade of this century and built at the shipyard in Wuchang. The design combines domestic solutions with features deriving from Soviet and Russian submarines: it has a teardrop-shaped hull, a large sail and one large propeller shaft. The armament consists of bow 533 mm torpedo tubes, from which torpedoes as well as antiship missiles can be launched.
Glue the hull together after a dry test and fill the seam around the circumference carefully and sand it over; with a submarine a smooth surface is key and any irregularity shows. Bend the photo-etched parts in a bending tool or over the edge of a steel ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate super glue. Spray the base in a thin coat, so that the engraved detail is not lost. The typical look is given by a dark, almost black shade with a slightly lighter cast on the upper surface, complemented by a fine picking out of the panels and hatches. It is advisable to paint the stand differently, so that it sets the model apart visually.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
