A plastic kit of the American Jeep CJ-7 off-road vehicle of the 1977 model year in 1:24 scale. The package is listed as two versions in one box: both the Renegade and the Golden Eagle variant can be built, and decals for both are included. According to the manufacturer the kit has about one hundred and thirty-six parts and includes, among other things, a removable hard top, a roll bar, a winch and a jerrycan.
The CJ-7 arrived in the mid-1970s as a lengthened reworking of the classic civilian Jeep. The longer wheelbase improved road behavior and made room for a solid roof and normal doors, so a purely utilitarian vehicle became a car usable every day. The Renegade and Golden Eagle trim packages added colorful decals, different wheels and accessories. The range also included a V8 of roughly five liters.
The body is smooth and large, so every unfinished joint and scratch will show. Sand the surfaces and check them against the light before priming. Spray the gloss coat in several thin layers and let it dry thoroughly before the decals. Finish the engine and the chassis before the body covers them. The off-road tires look better after a light dusting with pigment, and plastic chrome takes being toned down with a fine coat of clear varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
