Hood fasteners, type R is a set of printed parts in 1:24 scale, according to the name in two groups of fourteen pieces.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of small parts imitating the quick-release fasteners by which hoods and removable panels are secured on racing cars. It is made in 1:24 scale and according to the name it contains two groups of parts of fourteen pieces each, that is the fasteners themselves and the matching counterparts that go with them. The parts are printed on a three-dimensional printer.
A racing car has to be openable within seconds, which is why hoods are not secured with latches but with turning quick-release fasteners. On the real car there are several of them around the perimeter of each panel, and on a model they are exactly the detail that gives away that this is not a production car. In a kit they tend to be suggested only by a raised shape or a decal, which is noticed at once on a finished model.
Cut the parts off with a new blade on a hard surface and work over a box, otherwise a small part will end up on the floor. Remove the print supports after printing and level the surface. They are easier to paint before being cut off: a metallic shade and a darker wash to bring out the shape are usually enough. Mark out their placement on the panel in advance with a pencil or according to a photograph of the real subject, so that the fasteners sit at regular spacings. They are glued with super glue dispensed with a pin.
