Tiger I 8.8 cm KwK 36 L/56 barrel, 1:35 — a 3D-printed resin accessory from GINGER CAT.
Responsibility details are not available.
A 3D-printed resin barrel of the German 88 mm KwK 36 tank gun with a barrel length of 56 calibers, for a model of the Tiger I tank in 1:35 scale from GINGER CAT. The manufacturer gives one piece in the package. The barrel goes on in place of the plastic part and offers a circular cross-section with no mold seam and an open muzzle; the twin-baffle muzzle brake of the Tiger is the thing that catches the eye most.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank with frontal armor that most Allied weapons could not penetrate in 1943, and with the 88 mm KwK 36 gun derived from the successful 8.8 cm anti-aircraft gun. A barrel length of 56 calibers gave the weapon a high muzzle velocity and excellent accuracy at long range. It was the combination of the two that made the Tiger a machine that forced its opponents to look for a hit from the side and from ambush.
3D-printed parts are small and brittle: separate them with a fine-tooth saw or with nippers and level the remains of the print supports with a fine file. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not hold. Before painting, spray a thin coat of primer, as a heavy coat would drown the detail.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
