This injection-molded plastic kit captures the iconic rear-engined sports car Alpine A110 in the 1600S version in 1:24 scale. The set contains the plastic parts, rubber tires, waterslide decals and instructions for building and painting. In its extent it is a detailed model with just under 140 parts.
The Alpine A110 is a light French sports car with a backbone frame and a fiberglass body. The 1600S version, with an engine fitted with a pair of twin Weber carburetors, was among the most successful; the car collected laurels in rallying including the famous Monte Carlo Rally and became a symbol of the turn of the 1960s and 1970s.
It pays to spray the body with a gloss varnish and to let the color combination with the starting numbers from the decals stand out. Chrome accessories and headlights enliven the assembly, and a clear coat under the decals and fine polishing give the body depth. Use a liquid cement for plastic and apply the paints with an airbrush after spraying the primer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
