An injection-molded plastic model of the classic American tractor unit Western Star 4964 in 1:24 scale from the Italian brand Italeri. The model faithfully captures the typical American long-haul conventional tractor with a large cab. The box contains plastic parts in several colors, chrome-plated parts, clear parts, rubber tires and a generous decal sheet. The assembled model is more than 35 cm long.
The Western Star brand has been building heavy commercial vehicles since the end of the 1960s, and its output is regarded as the sum of the qualities of the ideal American long-haul tractor. The 4964 type is a sturdy conventional tractor intended for the most demanding long-distance haulage, with a powerful diesel engine and a roomy cab for long journeys.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic, and fill and sand the joints. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting and put the paints on with an airbrush in thin coats. A gloss coat will finish off the painted surfaces of the cab, while the engine, the chassis and the tanks come alive with details brought out by a wash. Finish the chrome fittings and the cab interior before the final assembly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
