The Reskit set of resin wheels for the de Havilland Mosquito FB Mk.VI in 1:24 scale replaces the plastic wheels of a kit with detailed wheels with a fine tread and well-drawn hubs.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail accessory from the Reskit brand intended for models of the fighter bomber de Havilland Mosquito FB Mk.VI in the large 1:24 scale. The set replaces the main landing gear wheels from a plastic kit with accurate resin parts. It is not a model of the aircraft but an upgrade that raises the realism of a finished build.
In large scales the wheels are one of the most conspicuous places on a model. Resin castings have a sharper tire tread, more faithfully drawn hubs and cleaner shapes than production plastic. On this type a slight sag of the tire under the weight of the machine tends to be suggested, which gives the wheels the impression of a load and settles the model firmly on the ground.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter and level the surface; when sanding resin use respiratory protection, as the dust is irritating. Glue with cyanoacrylate. Apply primer before painting, paint the tire and the hub separately and finally bring the tread out with a dry brush or a wash.
This is a detail set, not a complete model. A corresponding kit is needed to use it. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package.
