A set of fuel and oil drums of the German type from the years 1930 to 1950 in 1:24 scale. An accessory for models of equipment and a rewarding filler for a workshop or storeroom diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet-metal drum belongs to the equipment of every workshop, fueling point and field depot, and in period photographs you find it as often as the vehicles themselves. German drums from the 1930s to the 1950s have a cylindrical body with circumferential reinforcing hoops, on which the drum rests while it is rolled along the ground, and bungs on the top head. They were stored upright along walls, lying down in stacks and loose on the beds of trucks, so they suit practically any scene from that period.
Fuel and oil drums in 1:24 scale, that is in the same size as car and motorcycle kits in this scale. The Set 1 designation sets the first set of the line apart, so that it can be supplemented by others. The parts are separate, so you place them as you see fit.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest carefully so that the hoops stay sharp. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, and choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Drums are rewarding precisely because of how quickly they scuff: a base shade, a dark wash into the pressings around the hoops, wear along the edges and a few rust streaks running down from the bung are enough to make a scene look used.
For builders of cars, motorcycles and equipment in 1:24 scale who want to fill a garage, a truck bed or a diorama scene. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
