Injection-molded plastic kit of the late version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10 fighter in the large 1:24 scale from Trumpeter. Thanks to the size, the kit offers a richly detailed cockpit, an engine section and fine panel lines; a variant with a transparent fuselage that reveals the internal structure is commonly available as well. The Bf 109 G-10 was among the very fastest variants of the whole Gustav series. It was powered by the improved Daimler-Benz DB 605D engine with a larger supercharger and the MW 50 injection system for a short-term boost in power. It was used in the final phase of the Second World War, above all as a fighter in the defense of German airspace. It differed from the mid-production versions in a number of aerodynamic refinements to the airframe.
Paint the cockpit and the engine and bring out their detail before you close the fuselage. Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid cement for plastic, and mask the clear glazing before spraying. Apply primer and paints with an airbrush, put the decals on a gloss coat and pick out the panel lines with a wash. On large sets Trumpeter often supplies rubber tires and small photo-etched parts to refine the detail; the tires can be replaced with resin ones for a more accurate shape.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
