An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous American fighter P-51D Mustang in the large 1:24 scale from Trumpeter. The large format allows rich detail on the airframe as well as on the powerplant. The set contains airframe parts, engine parts, a clear canopy and a decal sheet. Check the exact contents and markings against the enclosed instructions.
The North American P-51D Mustang was one of the most successful fighters of the Second World War. The D version with its bubble canopy and license-built Packard Merlin engine stood out for performance as well as for the range that let it escort bombers deep over Europe. The Mustang became a symbol of American fighter aviation at the end of the war.
A large scale rewards finishing the engine and the cockpit carefully before the airframe is closed. A gleaming natural metal finish is best achieved with metallic paints over a smooth base; shade the panels for a three-dimensional look. An airbrush and a primer make an even coat over large areas easier. Bond the small parts with super glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
