The set from the maker Yamamoto Model Parts holds resin, 3D printed pop-up headlights for models of the Japanese sports coupe Mazda RX-7 (FD3S) in 1:24 scale. It is not a kit of the car, but a detail accessory that makes it possible to show the headlights in the raised (open) position and so to raise the realism of a model.
The third generation Mazda RX-7 had characteristic retractable headlights. Showing them in the raised state gives a model dynamism and sets it apart from a build straight out of the box. The fine 3D printing captures the shape of the reflectors as well as of the surrounds.
Carefully separate the parts from the print supports, wash and degrease them, and glue them with super glue. The reflectors can be completed with a gloss silver paint or with mirror foil, and the cover glass with clear varnish.
The accessory is supplied on its own, without the model of the car, the paints and the glue. Intended for the Mazda RX-7 FD3S kit, Tamiya 24116, in 1:24 scale.
