A set of waterslide decals for a model of the rally Renault 5 Turbo in 1:24 scale with sponsor markings from the 1981 season. It is not a kit, but markings on their own for a model of your own.
The 1981 season was the most significant one for the Renault 5 Turbo: in it the car made its mark in the toughest tarmac rallies, where its layout with the engine in the middle and drive to the rear wheels made sense. A year later, though, a category of cars with drive to all four wheels appeared in the world championship and changed the rules of the game. That is exactly why modelers like to return to models from these years: they capture the last era before the great change.
Apply the decals over a gloss clear coat; on a matte surface a silvery veil will appear under them. Cut the sheet close to the motif so that no visible border is left along the edge. Dip a decal in water for only a few seconds and let it release on the backing paper; do not pull it with tweezers. Lay large areas of markings from the center toward the edges and squeeze the water out with a soft cloth. On edges and recessed detail use decal softener and press the film down with a cotton swab. Once dry, give the model a clear coat so that the edges blend into the surface.
The decals are supplied on their own; the model and paints are not part of the package.
