Plastic kit of the legendary long-nose tractor unit Scania 142H 6x2 Canvas in 1:24 scale from Italeri. The box contains injection-molded plastic parts, rubber tires, waterslide decals and instructions; the decals make it possible to build two different versions. The assembled model is fairly large and it is a rewarding subject for truck builders.
In the 1980s the Scania 142 series was among the best in European road haulage. Under the long hood sat a powerful V8, famous for its reliability and its pulling power on long-distance routes. The 6x2 layout with an extra axle increased the payload and the stability of the rig; the Canvas version carries a curtainside semi-trailer. The long-nose Scania is one of the cult subjects of truck builders.
Glue the model with liquid cement for plastic. Assemble the chassis, the axles and the V8 engine and check the fit before you close up the frame and the cab. Spray the body with an airbrush over primer and bring it out with a gloss coat, because on a truck a clean, deep gloss on the body is crucial to the overall impression. Finish the chrome parts, the mirrors and the canvas of the semi-trailer at the end and settle the decals on a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
