1:24 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb (for Trumpeter kit)

1:24 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb, a 3D instrument panel (Red Fox Studio)

This accessory is a prepainted three-dimensional instrument panel of colored resin, not a kit of an aircraft. It is intended for models of the Spitfire Mk.Vb in 1:24 scale and it raises the cabin to a level hard to reach by hand painting. The instrument panel has faithful colors of the gauges and of the lettering and an imitated gloss of the instrument glasses. The set is intended for the Trumpeter kit.

The real subject

The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb was a British single-seat fighter with a characteristic elliptical wing and a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The Mk.Vb version carried a pair of 20 mm Hispano cannon supplemented by machine guns and was one of the most widespread variants of the Spitfire in the first half of the war.

Use and fitting

• Separate the part from the carrier frame and glue it in place of the original panel.
• Super glue (cyanoacrylate) is ideal; modeling PVA glue can be used as well.
• The surface is finished and the gauges do not have to be painted in.

Who it is for

• Modelers who want to detail a cabin effectively and quickly.
• Builders who are not satisfied with the flat instrument panel from the base mold.
• Collectors of a large scale, where the interior is clearly visible.

This is an interior accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
