Stores for supersonic light fighters: a 275 gallon drop tank for the F-5E/F/N, F-20 and AT-3 in 1:32 scale completes a model's armament and its range equipment.

On light fighters an underwing tank is an element without which most photographs from service would not exist. A model looks empty without one, and that is why a drop tank is among the aviation accessories a modeler reaches for most often. This item covers the machines of the F-5E, F-5F and F-5N family and the F-20 and AT-3 types as well.
The Northrop F-5 came about as a simple and cheap supersonic fighter for the allies of the United States. The E version, designated Tiger II, was given more powerful engines, a revised nose and better maneuvering qualities; the letter F denotes the two-seat version and N the machines operated by the US Navy as adversaries in air combat training. The F-20 Tigershark was a privately funded successor which, for all its excellent performance, never found a customer. The AT-3 is a Taiwanese jet trainer and light combat aircraft of the same weight class.
The tanks were usually sprayed in the color of the aircraft, but they often came from a different delivery, so the shade did not have to match perfectly; a slight difference of shade looks convincing. Dirt collected on the underside and there were fuel traces around the filler points; suggest both sparingly. Sand the surface smooth, as any step on a smooth body shows from a meter away.
The item is a stores piece on its own; neither the aircraft nor the paints are in the package.
