A model of the CT-10 target drone in 1:32 scale, made by 3D printing. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The CT-10 was one of the target drones, that is small unmanned machines used in flight as a target in training anti-aircraft defenses and fighter pilots. In a collection it is a subject that turns up only rarely, even though training after the Second World War could not have done without these machines.
A model of the CT-10 in 1:32 scale made by 3D printing. The printed parts have no casting blocks and no sprue gates; they are held by print supports, which are removed before building. The material is not polystyrene, so the joints are made with super glue. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Cut the supports off with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and carefully sand the remaining stubs; the printed material is harder and more brittle than plastic and cracks when levered. Before you start painting, wash and degrease the parts so that no residue from printing is left on the surface. Lay the base coat on in a thin layer; in this scale a heavy coat would cover the fine texture of the surface. Target machines usually carried conspicuous coloring so that they would be clearly visible in flight; check the specific scheme in whatever references you use.
The set is for a modeler looking for an unusual subject who is not afraid of working with printed parts. Because the material is brittle it suits a builder with experience rather than a complete beginner.
Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
