The SUU-23 is an American gun pod with a 20 mm rotary cannon. It was hung on the pylons of combat aircraft and supplemented the gun armament where it was missing or insufficient. Working with it was an ordinary part of the ground crew's day at an airfield: the pod was brought up on a trolley, opened for inspection and replenishment of ammunition, and only then went under the aircraft. The set captures British mechanics at this work.
Three pieces in 1:32 scale, with an SUU-23 gun pod and a transport trolley to go with them. The gun section is designed so that it can be built with the cover open or closed, so you can choose between a quiet scene and work in progress. The scene 1 designation distinguishes the individual scenes within the range; the division of the parts is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary modeling cement has no effect on them; join them with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut off the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand what is left, so as not to wipe away the shape of the figure. Wash and degrease them before painting, otherwise the paint will hold poorly. A primer works well, with the shades of the working coveralls over it and a dry brush on the folds; the metal parts of the trolley will take restrained soiling.
The set belongs in dioramas with British aviation and also suits standing beside a single finished model, to which it gives scale and a story. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
