About product

The 3D-printed colored interior for the Dassault Mirage IIIE in 1:32 (for the Italeri/Revell kit) — Quinta Studio, Small version

A set of pre-painted cockpit interior parts from Quinta Studio for modelers who want a realistic pilot's cockpit without laborious painting. These are 3D-printed, pre-colored parts on backing (decal) paper — once moistened they are applied like a decal, but when dry they form fine three-dimensional 3D relief with photorealistic colors, instruments and markings. The result is a detailed interior with no need for painting. It is neither an aircraft model nor a kit — it is a detail accessory intended for the Mirage IIIE kit from Italeri (reboxed under the Revell brand as well), which you have to own; on other kits the parts will not fit dimensionally. The words Small version mean a reduced (simplified) set holding only the most important and most visible elements of the cockpit (typically the instrument panel and the main side consoles). It is quicker to apply than the full version; a complete cockpit interior is available as a separate full version.

The real subject

The Dassault Mirage IIIE is a French supersonic fighter with the characteristic delta wing. Unlike the purely interceptor IIIC version, the IIIE is a multirole fighter and strike version with a lengthened forward fuselage, which took more avionics and fuel. It was capable of ground attack and of long-range flight and became the most widespread variant of the Mirage III family, exported to many countries.

How to use the set

The parts are cut out, dipped in water for a few seconds and slid off the backing into place in the cockpit. Do not use a decal softener, as it attacks the printed resin; a final overspray with a semi-gloss or matte varnish unifies the surface and protects the colors. The surfaces the interior is stuck to should be clean and degreased.

Who the set is for

  • For owners of the Mirage IIIE kit from Italeri (or the Revell rebox) in 1:32 scale.
  • For modelers who want a realistic cockpit without painting and airbrushing.
  • For beginners and advanced builders alike — applying it is easier than detailing by hand.
  • For those who are content to bring out the main visible elements of the cockpit (the reduced set).

This is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The Mirage IIIE kit itself, glue, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.

Yes, Revell reboxes this Mirage IIIE kit from the Italeri molds, so the set is intended for both brands. On kits from other makers it does not fit dimensionally.

The IIIE is the multirole fighter and strike version with a lengthened fuselage, the IIIC the older, purely interceptor version. The cockpits differ, which is why each has a set of its own.
