1:32 Douglas A-1 Skyraider - Pylons Late Version is a resin set of pylons in the late form. It is an addition, not a model of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of pylons for a model of the American Douglas A-1 Skyraider attack aircraft in 1:32 scale from the Czech maker Aires. It replaces the parts from the kit with a more accurate casting with crisp edges and legible detail on the attachments. The set shows the late form of the pylons, that is, the arrangement of later production machines. It is not a model of the aircraft; it is an addition to an existing kit.
The A-1 Skyraider was a single-seat attack aircraft with a piston radial engine that arrived at the end of the Second World War and was still serving in Vietnam. Its strengths were an enormous load of external stores and the ability to stay over the battle area far longer than jet machines. That is exactly why it had a whole row of pylons under the wing and fuselage, and their form changed during its long service. It was also used to escort helicopters rescuing downed crews.
Wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water to get rid of the mold release agent, or the paint will not hold on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the face with abrasive paper, protecting your breathing. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting. Fit the pylons dry and check that they all sit at the same angle to the wing.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
