This product is neither an aircraft model nor a kit. They are two resin castings of the Martin-Baker Mk.10 ejection seat in 1:32 scale, intended as a replacement for the simplified plastic parts in the cockpit. The two pieces in the package suit two-seat aircraft as well as serving as a stock for two single-seat models.
The Martin-Baker Mk.10 is a family of ejection seats with a rocket booster, which allow an aircraft to be abandoned in an emergency even at zero altitude and zero speed. The seat is fitted with a restraint harness system, limb restraints and automatic gear for separating the pilot from the seat and opening the parachute. Seats of this family were used in various renderings on several types of trainer and combat aircraft, so the detail of the seat can differ from machine to machine.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water, so that the mold release agent comes off. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and sand the surfaces down; when sanding resin, work wet and protect your airways. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary cement for plastic will not bond resin. Paint the seat off the model, where you can reach it from every side: a base of dark flat paint, the cushions in a different shade and finally light accentuation of the edges with a dry brush. Dry-fit before gluing it into the cockpit, as a resin part tends to be bulkier than the original plastic one.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The basic model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Before buying, check that the rendering of the seat matches the type you are building.
