A Quinta Studio detail set intended for the kit of the single-seat Eurofighter Typhoon (the EF-2000/2000A version) in 1:32 scale from the maker Trumpeter. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory, an upgrade for one particular kit. The set brings realistic framing for the clear canopy, with the inner frames, the seals and the structure of the cover, completed by small extra parts. Technically these are colored 3D parts on a decal backing, which are transferred onto a clean clear canopy and give it a three-dimensional, finely relieved look with no need for the laborious masking and painting of the frames.
It replaces the flat or simplified execution of the canopy framing from the base kit with more faithful, three-dimensional detail. It improves the visible area of the canopy, which is the most seen part of a finished model. The extras add further small details around the cockpit.
Degrease the clear parts thoroughly before application and keep them as clean as possible. Quinta pieces are thicker than classic decals and behave more like thin colored parts: dip the sheet briefly in lukewarm water and slide the piece off the backing paper onto gloss varnish; do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, as they damage the printed resin. It is advisable to polish the clear surfaces of the canopy with gloss varnish before the decals. Cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) comes in handy for fixing the small parts.
This is not a model kit but an accessory for the single-seat Eurofighter Typhoon kit (Trumpeter), which the customer has to obtain separately. The set does not have to fit another kit. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
