F-105G Thunderchief cockpit (Hyperdetailed edition) is a 3D-printed detail set in 1:32 scale for the F-105G kit by Trumpeter. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory; you have to have the model itself.

This is NOT a kit of the aircraft but a cockpit detail set made by 3D printing, meant for the F-105G Thunderchief kit in 1:32 scale by Trumpeter; you have to have the model. The Hyperdetailed edition designation is the manufacturer highest level of execution: the main controls are done as separate parts (not just as relief), the inner structure of the cockpit is worked out in detail and the clear parts are shaped to fit the outline of the fuselage. The manufacturer also carries a simpler basic edition with 3D instrument decals; this version aims at maximum detail.
The Republic F-105 Thunderchief, called the Thud by its crews, was an American supersonic fighter-bomber. In Vietnam it carried the main burden of strike missions over the north and suffered exceptionally heavy losses. The F-105G version is the Wild Weasel, a two-seat machine specialized in destroying enemy radars and surface-to-air missile sites. Its crews flew by the motto First In, Last Out: they arrived first to silence the air defenses and left last, only once everyone was done over the target. The two-seat cockpit is therefore the key distinguishing mark of the G version: the pilot in front, the electronic warfare officer behind.
In 1:32 scale the cockpit is large and, through the big canopy, you can really see into it, so a detailed cockpit pays off here as nowhere else. Resin will not bond with cement for polystyrene: use super glue, and on large surfaces epoxy, which gives time to settle the part. Wash the parts before painting in soapy water; residues of uncured print resin keep the paint from adhering. Then a primer, the base shades with an airbrush, the instruments and levers with a brush and finally an accenting wash in the recesses. Cut the print supports off with a saw and do not snap them; on thin levers and frames you would ruin the part. Sand only wet: resin dust is harmful and should not be inhaled.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the kit. The model, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
