A collectible figure in 1:32 scale representing a standard-bearing officer of the elite Persian heavy infantry from the time of the Greco-Persian Wars. The set holds parts for assembling one figure, to be glued and painted. It suits a display cabinet on its own as well as bringing a historical scene or diorama to life.
The Greco-Persian Wars were fought in the 5th century BC between the Greek city states and the vast Persian (Achaemenid) empire. The standard-bearer was one of the most important and at the same time most exposed figures on the battlefield - the standard served as a point of reference for the unit and as a symbol of honor that had to be held at any cost. The figure captures the period armor, dress and equipment of a Persian heavy infantryman.
Clean the flash off the parts and lightly sand the mold parting lines. Apply a primer and model the volume with a light-and-shadow technique - lightening the raised areas and darkening the folds (glazes, drybrushing). On period costume the contrast between cloth, leather and metal elements shows to good effect; the metal parts can be picked out with metallic paints and a fine wash. Finish the face and hands with flesh tones and glazes for a lively expression. Finally, even the surface out with a matte varnish.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
