A photo-etched detail set, not an aircraft model. The set contains fine photo-etched metal parts for the landing flaps of the Macchi MC.200 Saetta model in 1:32 scale and is intended for kits from Italeri. It is made by the Czech manufacturer Eduard, a specialist in photo-etch and accessories. The photo-etched flaps replace or supplement the plastic parts and give the model the thin-walled, scale-accurate look that plastic cannot manage.
The Macchi MC.200 Saetta was an Italian fighter of the Second World War period with a characteristic radial engine. Open landing flaps are one of the details that markedly bring the look of the wing to life on a model on display.
The parts stay on the fret — cut them off with a sharp knife or photo-etch shears, do not break them out. Make the bends over a ruler or in a photo-etch bending tool, so that they are crisp and straight. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; for fine positioning a dedicated photo-etch adhesive can be used as well. Degrease the parts and lay down a primer before painting, otherwise the paint will hold badly.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
