A large plastic kit of the last main production version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4 fighter in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. It is an injection-molded model in gray plastic with finely engraved panel lines, a richly detailed cockpit, a clear canopy and engine and landing gear detail. The large 1:32 scale stands out in a display case and offers room for extra detailing.
The Bf 109 was the most numerously built fighter of the Second World War and the K-4 version was the peak of its development. It was powered by a strong inverted V12 engine driving the propeller and had a number of aerodynamic refinements as well as an improved canopy. It went into action in the last year of the war as an attempt to keep pace with Allied fighters.
Assemble and paint the richly detailed cockpit before you close the fuselage; in a large scale every detail shows. Glue the parts with a thin plastic cement and sand the joints carefully. Late-war camouflage with mottling and soft transitions is best done with an airbrush; washes and dry-brushing bring out the texture superbly in a large scale.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
