A pair of 3D printed resin drop fuel tanks of the RPL 501 and RPL 502 types, of 1700 liters, intended for models of the Dassault Mirage 2000 in 1:32 scale. The tanks are fitted onto the wing pylons of a finished model. Reskit carries the whole group of Mirage 2000 tanks alongside one another, besides this type also the RPL 522 version of 1300 liters and the RPL 541 and 542 of 2000 liters, so you choose by the configuration you are building.
The Dassault Mirage 2000 is a French single-engined combat aircraft with a delta wing, which came about as the successor to the older Mirages and serves in France and with a number of foreign users. It flies in pure fighter form as well as in strike and two-seat versions. Drop tanks are an ordinary part of its takeoff configuration, and the individual types differ from one another in volume, in shape and in which pylon they are carried on. It is often by them that you can tell what task a particular machine in a photograph was prepared for.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and remove the remains of the print supports. Level the mating surfaces by sanding, and protect your airways when working with resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; with long tanks it pays to tack them in place first, check that they are in line with the fuselage from a front view and only then strengthen the joint. Apply a primer and paint them along with the model so the shade matches. In service, tanks tend to be dirty from fuel around the filler caps and rubbed from handling; a few such traces give a model its credibility.
