A detailed add-on cockpit set for the French two-seat Dassault Mirage 2000N strike aircraft in 1:32 scale. The set is made by direct 3D printing in resin and replaces the plastic interior with a richly worked two-seat cockpit. The Detailed edition is conceived for painting the instrument panels by hand, while the basic edition uses decal panels. It is not a model of the aircraft in its own right but an upgrade for a kit.
On a large 1:32 model the cockpit is the most conspicuous detail. The 3D print captures the fine structure of the ejection seats, the side consoles and the raised instruments of both crew stations. The 2000N version served as a carrier of strike weapons and its cockpit is a rewarding subject for super-detailing.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts and remove the print supports. Glue with cyanoacrylate and protect your airways while sanding. Paint the interior in shades of dark gray, pick out the instruments and add a wash for depth.
