The crew of an MJ-4 Jammer (MHU-83 B/E) munitions loader 1:32, scene two adds the driver and members of the ground crew at work with stores to an airfield model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure subject from the support area of a combat airfield. The designation gives the type of loader as the MJ-4 Jammer with the qualifier MHU-83 B/E and distinguishes it as scene number two, so it is the second arrangement of poses on the same subject.
In the US Air Force a munitions loader is nicknamed a Jammer. It is a low, long vehicle with a lifting platform that carries a bomb or a guided missile under a wing and sets it precisely into the pylon. The work is slow, exact and done by two or three people: one drives and the others guide the load and watch the clearance between the store and the structure of the machine. It is exactly this routine, repeated at an airfield before every launch, that the subject captures.
The coveralls of ground personnel tend to be a single color and worn, so after the base coat add a lighter tone on the taut areas of the cloth and a dark one at the waist and the knees. Pick out the reflective band on the vest with a rich shade applied in a thin line, so that it does not swamp the detail. Leave the gloves and the boots matte. Pigment on the boots and the hems of the trousers will visually set the figures on the ground, and the scene will stop looking as though the people were levitating above the surface.
Painting and bonding materials are not included.
