Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the French Morane-Saulnier N fighter monoplane from the period of the First World War, in 1:32 scale. It is a short-run injection-molded kit of a small but distinctive aircraft that ranks among the icons of the early days of fighter aviation. The model will appeal to collectors of Great War aircraft and to modelers who like unusual subjects.
The Morane-Saulnier type N was a single-seat fighter monoplane with a characteristic aerodynamic conical propeller spinner, which earned it the nickname Bullet. The design grew out of fast racing aircraft; roll control was by wing warping. It was powered by a rotary engine and its machine gun fired forward through the plane of the propeller, which was protected by metal deflector wedges that turned aside hits on its own blade — an early solution to forward fire before reliable synchronization was introduced. The aircraft was flown by French and British pilots and, despite the small numbers built, it became a legend of early air combat.
Short-run injection-molded kits call for more careful cleaning up of the parts and for dry-fitting before gluing. The fine struts and wing bracing will call for patience; elastic thread is good for tensioning the rigging. Fabric covering finished with dope shows to advantage with fine toning and a matte varnish. Apply the paint with an airbrush over a primer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
