A decal sheet for the Japanese carrier-based fighter Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero in 1:24 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mitsubishi A6M2 was a carrier-based fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy, known around the world as the Zero. It made its name for its agility and its long range and in the first months of the war in the Pacific was among the most feared of opponents. The A6M2 version comes from the early part of its service, so the distinctive features of Japanese markings show well on a model: the round national insignia and the numbers on the vertical tail.
The sheet is intended for kits in 1:24 scale, that is for large models, where every marking is seen close up and where good printing pays off. The exact range of markings and the color schemes are given on the sheet and in the instructions supplied. Check that it fits your kit by comparing the dimensions; in large scales the differences between individual kits are noticeable.
First give the surface the decal will lie on a coat of gloss varnish; on a matte surface air stays trapped under the decal and the edge of the film shows itself as a light frame. Cut the marking out as close as you can, soak it in lukewarm water and wait until it releases from the backing paper. Then slide it into place, squeeze the water out from under it with a soft cloth and let it dry. Over engraved detail and curved surfaces a decal softener helps. Finally, coat the area according to the sheen the finished model is to have.
The package holds the decal sheet. The model, the paints, the varnishes and the softener are not included, unless stated otherwise.
