An injection-molded plastic model of the French single-seat fighter biplane Nieuport 28 c.1 in 1:32 scale from the Roden brand. The kit offers a finely engraved surface, a detailed cockpit and rotary engine and separately shaped control surfaces; as with every biplane, the build includes bracing wires.
The Nieuport 28 was a French fighter biplane powered by a rotary engine, with two lifting surfaces of equal width - unlike the narrow lower wings of the earlier Nieuport family. Although it did not win great favor with the French units, it became the first fighter with which American air squadrons entered the fighting of the First World War, and American aces flew it as well.
On a biplane, assemble and paint the cockpit and the rotary engine before you close the fuselage up. Clean the fine struts and braces carefully. Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic, then fill and sand the seams. Apply a primer before painting and spray the paints with an airbrush in thin coats. Deal with the bracing wires only after painting, using rigging thread; imitate the fabric with glazes and light washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
