Purple jerseys – flight deck refueling team 1:32 is figure scene number two, which adds a refueling scene on a modern aircraft carrier to a large model of a jet aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure accessory for large aircraft models and deck settings. According to the name it represents a modern refueling crew in purple jerseys and carries the designation scene number two, so it follows on from the first variant of the same pair.
The flight deck of an American aircraft carrier is a noisy and confined place of work where the trades are told apart by the color of the jersey and the helmet. Purple belongs to the aviation fuel specialists, who are nicknamed Grapes. They operate the fueling stations, run out the hoses and top up the fuel between individual launches, often under time pressure. It is precisely this activity that gives a static model a readable story and explains to the viewer what is going on at that moment on the deck.
Degrease the figures before painting and go over them with a thin coat of primer, so that the covering shades hold. The purple jersey comes out well when, after the base tone, you run a dark filling shade into the folds and pick the edges out with a dry brush. The headset, the gloves and the helmet will take a small highlight, while the boots and the lower part of the trousers should be muted with a dusty haze of the deck surface. It pays to seat the figures only once the groundwork is finished, so that they can be painted from every side.
Paints, brushes and a base are not included.
