Reskit 1:32 Rafael Python 5 (4 pieces) is a resin set of external guided missiles for large aircraft models.
Responsibility details are not available.
By its name the set contains four pieces of the Python 5 missile in 1:32 scale. It is an armament accessory, not a kit of an aircraft; it serves to fit out the pylons and wingtip rails on a model already under construction.
The Python 5 is an Israeli short-range guided missile with infrared guidance. What tells it apart from older missiles of the same category at first glance are the long narrow strakes running along most of the length of the body and the two sets of control surfaces — small ones at the front and large ones at the rear. Thin long surfaces are exactly the part injection-molded plastic cannot make thin enough without deforming; a resin casting copes better with them.
Cyanoacrylate glue is the only option here and it has to be handled carefully. With thin surfaces put a drop on a surface and take it up on the tip of a wire, so that truly a minimum gets into the joint; any excess wicks along the edge of a surface and rounds it off. To be safe, try the joint dry first and mark both the surface and the body, so that they line up. If you separate a joint, sand the remains of the glue off first, otherwise a second attempt will create a step. Painting: a primer first, then a light base and finally thin circumferential bands and a fine emphasis of the strakes.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
