US aircraft mechanics with an SUU-23 gun pod on a transport trolley 1:32 capture a working scene with the ordnance crew of a jet combat aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A more extensive figure subject for large aircraft models. The name describes American mechanics with a 20 mm SUU-23 gun pod resting on a transport trolley and, according to the name, distinguishes it as the first scene; a British counterpart of the same subject exists as well.
The SUU-23 is a mounted pod with a 20 mm rotary cannon. It came about at a time when it became clear on jet machines armed exclusively with guided missiles that a gun still makes sense for close combat and for work against ground targets. It was usually carried on a fuselage pylon, and handling it called for a trolley and several people, because the pod is heavy and awkwardly long. The mention of an open and a closed gun bay in the designation refers to the rendition of the pod itself.
The uniforms of ground personnel tend to be faded, so lighten the base shade straight away and only then add a darker tone into the seams. The metal parts of the trolley will take stippled rust and oily smears, which belong around weapons equipment. Leave the pod itself matte and only polish the leading surfaces gently with graphite. Try the arrangement dry, so that the figures hold their working distances before you reach for the glue.
Obtain the paints and bonding materials you need separately.
