Trumpeter 1:32 Yak-18 Max is a plastic kit of the Soviet two-seat trainer aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-18 trainer aircraft in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. The kit is molded in gray plastic, holds a separately made radial engine and offers a richly worked surface. Once assembled it makes a large, detailed model of a classic training machine.
The Yak-18 was a two-seat basic trainer from the Yakovlev design bureau, whose development began in the middle of the nineteen forties. It replaced the older training types in service with the Soviet Air Force and with the DOSAAF organization. It was powered by a Shvetsov M-11 radial engine and the machine became one of the most widespread trainers of the Eastern bloc. Its NATO reporting name was Max.
Finish and paint the radial engine and the cockpit interior first, and only then close the fuselage up. Glue with liquid cement for plastic, and use a primer and an airbrush. Metal surfaces and the engine stand out with a fine wash and restrained weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
