1:35/1:32 Base with stone wall is a resin base with a section of stone wall that the manufacturer offers for two large scales.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin casting roughly three and a half centimeters along the edge joins a piece of firm ground with a section of built stone wall. The brand offers it for 1:35 as well as 1:32. The wall works as a vertical element that a figure can lean against or take cover behind, and it gives the scene depth that way.
Low stone enclosures divide the landscape from Normandy to the Apennines, and in the fighting they became improvised cover. They turn up again and again in period photographs, so the base suits European subjects from infantry to a commander standing beside a vehicle. In a Normandy hedgerow and on an Italian slope alike it was the first thing you could drop behind, and many of those walls are still standing today.
Stone is painted from the bottom up: a dark base runs into the gaps, and a lighter tone is then applied with a dry brush to the edges only. Suggest patches of moss with green and ocher in small areas, never continuously. Bring out the gaps at the end with a dark wash and dust the bottom with pigment, so that the wall grows out of the ground and does not look glued on.
A small area tempts you to fill it with a heap of detail. Restraint is in order here, though: one discarded object at the foot of the wall does more than five.
